CAN FISH HEAR SOUNDS?πŸ‘‚πŸŸ

Hey, it's me! I have found the answer to the question which I have had since I knew fishes live in water.
You know the question so let me the answer.

When we hear sounds we are really picking up vibrations from the air.
I think you know that sound does not travel in a vacuum in other words we can say it needs a medium to travel. As water allow sound to travel fishes can hear these sounds through their ears. I meant the ears are a series of holes called a LATERAL LINE down in each side of their bodies.
They can also detect changes in sound waves.

I think this update was a little small so what do you think?

SOLAR ECLIPSE ☀️πŸŒ™πŸŒ

Hey, it's me! So now I am going to tell some interesting facts about SOLAR ECLIPSE

what is a solar eclipse?
It is when the sun, moon and earth are in line. The moon will be in between and it casts a shadow on the earth.

why we don`t we have eclipses every month?
It is true moon goes around the earth but it does not always cast a shadow on the earth. This is because the moon`s orbit is tilted compared to the earth`s orbit

Should we avoid going out on a solar eclipse?
It is not that we must not go out but we must not see the sun. The rays won`t hurt our body

Why does seeing the sun during a solar eclipse can damage your eyes?
It is because the sun`s rays will be more focused then as usual. This can damage your retina and it's called eclipse blindness.

How do solar viewing glasses work?
The solar viewing glass is 100,100 times darker than sunglass and is made of black polymer. This blocks UV and other visible lights.

KNOWING THE PAST: RADIO CARBON DATING

Hey! I am Varsha. As my mother stopped writing blogs. I am going to continue her blog. Hope you all like it😊.

So have you ever wondered how archaeologists tell the dates of fossils that they have found? They use dating techniques. Now I am going to tell about one of them called RADIOCARBON DATING

Carbon 14 is an isotope of carbon. It is weakly radioactive and is present in our body too in a very low ratio.
In this technique, the sample is dropped in a chemical to remove all other contamination except for carbon and carbon 14. Then it is sent through an ACCELERATOR MASS SPECTROMETER (refer pic below) so it can measure the amount of carbon 14 in an organism. This is done because after death carbon 14 diminishes at a certain rate. Using this measurement we can calculate the year when that organism was alive.

ISOTOPE: It is an unstable atom and it produces radiation to be stable.
